Wax Moon — Band Photography
Waxing
the Moon
The Challenge
Wax Moon needed visuals that felt as honest as their music — rooted in place, atmosphere, and texture. The challenge was capturing the spirit of a band whose sound lives somewhere between folk intimacy and urban grit, photographing them in the raw environment of San Francisco near their practice space in a way that felt less like a shoot and more like a document of who they are.
My Role
- —Shot an environmental portrait series for Wax Moon in a gritty San Francisco neighborhood near their practice space, using the location itself as a visual extension of the band's identity
- —Captured the mood and texture of their bespoke, folk-inspired sound through images rooted in place and atmosphere
- —Delivered a cohesive set of visuals that gave the band photography true to their character — raw, grounded, and honest
