The Challenge
When Bonnie and the Bang Bang's zombie-inspired song found its way to Jon's first short film, the match was immediate. The challenge was reimagining that original story as something new — repurposing the footage into a visual narrative that felt intentional and alive, making the film serve the music rather than the other way around, and giving both the song and the story a haunting second life. Worth noting: the film was written and shot before The Last of Us — so watching spore zombies become a cultural moment was a pretty satisfying coincidence.
My Role
- —Directed the original short film that became the foundation for the music video, shaping the visual language and tone that carried into its new form
- —Reimagined and restructured the footage to pair with Bonnie and the Bang Bang's track, transforming a standalone story into a dynamic visual companion for the song
- —Delivered a music video that gave the band a haunting, fully realized visual narrative — built entirely from something that already existed
